I create artistic quilts that tell stories through color, texture, and form. My work is rooted in improvisation, drawing inspiration from what I see and feel—whether it’s the beauty of nature, the structure of a shape, or the meaning of a Bible verse. Each quilt is an interpretation, a visual conversation expressed in fabric.
My quilting journey began unexpectedly in 2008 during a Quilts of Valor project. Assigned to the cutting table, I learned the basics, and by the end of the day, I was sewing blocks together. When I discovered the creative possibilities within quilting, I was hooked. What started as helping hands quickly turned into a passion that continues to grow.
I often describe my process as puzzle-solving. I enjoy taking orphan blocks, scraps, and unexpected elements and finding harmony within them. Many of my pieces are versatile, functioning as quilted table runners or fabric home utility items, while others incorporate photographs on fabric to create deeply personal works.
New this year, I’ve added dining scarves to my collection—designed to help you dine with dignity while keeping mealtime both practical and stylish.
For me, quilting is more than just a craft—it’s joy, expression, and discovery. Through my fiber art, I hope to share that same sense of wonder and inspiration with others.

This year's shows feature more improv designs on denim jackets, alongside a stunning array of artistic quilts. Check out the photo gallery for examples, as each piece is a unique work of fiber art. Please note that items in the gallery may already be sold. To see what is available, visit the show or The Shops on West Ridge. Most current creations, including fabric home utility items like quilted table runners, crossbody bags, keychains, jar grabbers, glasses cases, and more in fun fabrics, can be found on the SewingHusband Facebook page.
The Shops on West Ridge operate as a coop, allowing you to purchase my work even when I’m not present. Many of my creations will also be available at the following art shows. Come by and say hi to Debbie and me.
